CY's Debating Web site
My association with debating first started when I was 13 years old, at
the Anglo-Chinese Secondary School where I would take part in
classroom debates. I loved the experience. Back then, I had a near
paralyzing fear of being in public, and how I often got through was only
when I got into a bit of a mad-frenzy, aggressively attacking my
opponent's speeches without regard for what others thought of myself
:)

Till date, I've had the opportunity to both debate and judge in a
number of tournaments both within Singapore, and outside Singapore
in other countries. There are primarily three major tournaments in the
International circuit. Specifically the All-Asian Intervarsity Debating
Championships (often held in May), the Australasian Intervarsity
Debating Championships (held in June to July), and the World
Universities Debates (held in December to January). I've been judging
in these tournaments since 1995, and also received my Australasian
Intervarsity Debating Association (AIDA) adjudication accreditation
twice in 1998 and 2000.

These days, when I can, I also adjudicate in tournaments hosted within
Singapore, and also help out to train debating teams in public schools.
